7th Annual Tampa Bay Downs Event 2020

Wow! What a beautiful day to enjoy our 7th Annual BACA event at the Tampa Bay Downs!! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect to enjoy a few cocktails and watch the ponies race and maybe make a few $$ (or give them all back to the track!). The turnout of BACA members reached a record 56 attendees!! and I couldn’t have been more happy to see all of the support from our members for the Tampa Bay Downs Racetrack. All of this is would not have been possible over the years without our good friend Mr. Richard Toda. We wish Dick the very best in his deserved retirement and thank him for all of the wonderful memories. Filling his shoes for us was long-time TB Downs friend and director Nicole McGill – thanks Nicole for continuing this BACA tradition for us, we look forward to working with you again for the 8th Annual !! — Visit Tampa Bay Downs Website

I also wish to say thank you to our new host and Client Services Manager Christina Nostro. Christina stepped right up to the plate (or gate!) and was extremely helpful in organizing and providing us with all the delicious food items and for making sure we were never in want for anything. I was lucky to observe Christina with some of the local clientele as we passed through the grandstand on our way to the Winners’ Circle for a quick photo op with the jockey of the BACA Sponsored Race #4 – Johnny U. Each encounter Christina had seemed to me as if she has known them all her life and she exuded her personal skills and genuine hospitality. What a pleasure to see you in action Christina!!

A very special thank you to probably the most popular person at the event, Miss Becky. Keeping our glasses full, Becky never left us thirsty. She always had a smile on her face and never seemed too overwhelmed with all the thirsty hospitality folks crowding her bar all afternoon.
I also wanted to thank Joe for taking our bets, though it seemed he never returned much money back! Even though he emptied my wallet, Joe was always there to make sure we placed our bets before post time and gave us all hope of winning big! It was all for a good cause.

Thank you to my BACA family for starting off the new year with a great turnout and for giving me your confidence to be your President for 2020. I am looking forward to leading our organization to new heights and to focus on education, awareness and networking. Giddy-up!!
